I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to have some fun with test prep!  No boring worksheets.  No monotony of same thing, different day.  Nope.  Not having it.

So…I created something that kids are SURE to LOVE!!  GAME SHOW WEEK!!

We are calling it “STAAR of the Show” in our room.  It’s a BIG secret right now as to what we will be doing next week, so if you see any of my students, don’t tell them!!  Haha.

This is just the first set that reviews revising and editing.  I will be creating another set for the week before STAAR that includes writing and some mixed skill review.

There are over 150…yes…ONE HUNDRED FIFTY cards to help students practice their skills in teams and battle it out to earn the most points.

Who WOULDN’T have fun with Minute to Win It games, table games, task cards, and Deal or No Deal?!?! I’m so excited!!

I have my room all set up and my student teacher and I are suepr excited to get this week of fun going soon as we get back from Spring Break.

The parents are getting involved and doing a big pizza party on the last day and the students have no idea what is going on.

Thank you so much again for creating and sharing this wonderful idea.

  2. Alysa Lair says:

We have Spring Break next week, so I am planning our Game Week for the week after, but I was wondering how long you have each set of students for? I only have 2 groups (one all morning and one all afternoon) with 17 in each group, so I’m trying to figure out timing and how much I’ll need to plan for other activities. I’m really looking forward to a new kind of review!!

    • Alysa Lair says:

And of course, I didn’t check over my own writing…. Shouldn’t end a sentence with a preposition. Obviously, my brain has already been fried by the last-day-before-Spring-Break-craziness!

    • Kayla Shook says:

Hi, Alysa! I have 55-60 minutes with each class, and we finished all games but one on one day with one class. :)
