Thank You!!

First…I have quite a few new followers.  THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking time to stop by my blog and looking around.  I want you to know that I am here to help in any way that I can.  That’s the whole reason that I started my blog in the first place!  😉

PLEASE don’t hesitate to email me with any questions that you have.  I enjoy talking with you…and learning from you.  I can promise that for every person that communicates with me, I learn something.  Whether it’s a new strategy or how I can better explain myself, I learn SOMETHING.  :)  And that’s what teachers do, right?

If you want to be sure to get updates when I post something new to the blog, be sure to put your email in that little box over there on the right hand side of your screen.

I’m sure you are already aware, but I am also on Facebook and other social media sites.  You can click the buttons over at the top right side of the page to find and follow me there.

Just a heads-up…I’m working on a daily writing review.  When I get it finished up, I’ll be doing a giveaway for one, so stay tuned!  And sometimes I do flash giveaways through my other social media sites…so…  😉

Thanks again for helping me become a better teacher.  I look forward to communicating with you throughout this new school year!

What Do YOU Want?

Hello, again!  I know, I know…it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged about anything school related.  And you know what?  I’ve enjoyed my hiatus!  😉  I’ve been having fun with the fam and NOT thinking about school.

I’m gearing up to get started on some materials to use next school year…and I need your help!  I want to make some things that will be TRULY useful in the classroom.

Here in Texas we don’t use the CCSS, but our TEKS are pretty much the same, so even if you don’t live in the good ‘ol state of Texas, you can still reap the benefits of products made by us Texas gals!  😉

My BIGGEST project for the summer is a daily writing/grammar review.  I want it to be a warm-up that takes a MAXIMUM of 10 minutes, but really more like 5…

But you know how that goes…some finish in 1 and others can take 10 and still not be done.  I’m going to be working out how to get it simple enough for ALL students to do some quality review in under 10.  Wish me luck!  Ha.

What sorts of things would you like to have to use in your classroom for next year?  I need your input!  Other than a daily review in writing, what ELSE would you go gaga over?

**And…AND…if you suggest it and others comment about the same thing…and it gets made…everyone…EVERYONE involved will get that product for FREE.  Yep…FREEEEEEE!  That’s how much I want you to help out!  I’m all about helping out others who do their part!

Oh yeah…and I’ll be self-contained next year, so ANY subject is appropriate.

So….let’s get this ball rolling.  Comment below on what you would like to have for your classroom next year.

Don’t be scared.  Your wish may just come true…and you get it for free!

If this is your first time, welcome!  This new linky party is a great way to find new awesome people to follow on various social media sites. It’s also neat to link up your own sites and gain new followers. Either way, it’s fun!  😉

Seriously…is it June ALREADY?  Time has seriously flown by lately.  I can’t believe that this week is the last week of school!  I mean, really…didn’t we just start like…yesterday?!?!

Anywho…I’m linking up again with Farley over at Oh Boy 4th Grade for her super fun CURRENTLY linky.  And I’m already late to the party…she has over 180 link-ups already.  Eeeek!

Every night…yeah, EVERY night…Friends sends me off into Dreamland.  And since it’s late, it’s already on.  I MIGHT have the entire 10 seasons ready for a rainy day.  I MIGHT even know that it comes on at 10:00 EVERY night on Nickelodeon…

I’m so stinkin’ excited for summer.  This has been a very stressful year…for many reasons.  But, it has been a really good one, too.  I’m still ready to relax and enjoy some time with the fam.

My blogging has slowed down tremendously since our tests have finished.  Even before that, I began creating several resources for my kiddos to prepare them, and THAT took all of my time that I used to have for blogging.  So…I’m looking forward to getting back into blogging mode over the summer.  :)

I REALLY wish I could wear jeans all week since we are having to pack up everything in our rooms.  Oh well…such is life, right?  Haha

Since we bought our house in October, we have done lots of painting…but not everything.  When you buy a foreclosure…pretty much everything needs to be repainted…and I mean EVERYTHING!  From walls to ceilings to baseboards to stair rails to door frames…you name it!  We have a lot more to get done.  And clean out the garage.  And unpack lots a few boxes. (wink) And put in new floors in the bathrooms and laundry room.  And I’m probably not going to list all of it to spare you some time!

Schlitterbahn!  We bought season passes this year since we live…you know…RIGHT down the road…basically.  Ok, it’s like 20 minutes away, but not bad.  The whole family is so stoked to get to go whenever we want…and stay for how long we want…and come home when we want…and not feel like we have to be there from sun up to sun down to get our money’s worth.  We can just go back the next day and have more fun!  And with the little man, we won’t be able to stay all day.  But I don’t care.  It will be awesome!

I’m also looking forward to some reading this summer.  It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to have the time to curl up with a good book.  Maybe too long…

And…last, but not least…we are taking a family trip to Missouri to see the hubby’s sister and her family.  That will be fun.  Long road trip with a 2 1/2 year old…um…I’ll be taking along some Tylenol and ear plugs.  😉  Good thing he’s a happy little guy…otherwise I might not make it!  But we will get to go to a baseball game while we are there…and I’m a huge baseball fan, so I’m excited to get to go to a new ballpark.  Heck, we might even have to go to two…

So that’s it…my June CURRENTLY!  Be sure to head over to Oh Boy 4th Grade for more fun!

Woo hoo!  We made it to May!  It seems like just yesterday we were starting the school year.  Weird how much faster time goes by the older you get!

I’m linking up again this month with Farley over at Oh Boy 4th Grade for her May CURRENTLY.  If you click on the picture, you can see it much better.  Still haven’t quite figured out how to get it just right in the post.  (A summer project in the making!)

LISTENING…to our little man go through the DVD’s.  He is fascinated with the hundreds of DVD’s we have.  He loves just flipping through them and listening to the sound of the pages…and, of course, pulling them all out…

LOVING…that it is already May.  Stress season is O-V-E-R!!  Now we actually get to have some fun with our learning!  😉  Ok, so maybe we have fun during the rest of the year, but now we can destress and focus on getting prepared for next year in a more fun environment.

THINKING…What are you doing for Mother’s Day with your students?  I’m at a loss this year.  There are so many cute ideas for little ones, but I have a harder time coming up with projects for 4th graders.  Any suggestions?!?!?!

WANTING…I have so many things to do around the house…and I need to grade some papers since grades are due by the end of the day tomorrow…but I’m extremely unmotivated currently…

NEEDING…This year, our EOY procedures are changing.  Our new principal wants us to clean up and clean out.  That’s a good thing…but I have some old materials from when I taught second grade that I just can’t part with…which take up space…which means I have things in my room that I haven’t used in awhile, but still want to keep…so I have EXTRA stuff to pack up.  We are having some renovations done this summer, so we pretty much have to clean out EVERYTHING.  So. Much. Work.

SURPRISE…I have been following Paula’s blog for awhile now, and I have to say…I love it!  Even though I don’t teach younger kids, her ideas are so cute!  She has lots of products on TpT that I can recommend to my fellow 1st grade teacher friends.  And…she is an Aussie, so it’s interesting to see what’s going on over on the other side of the world!  😉  Click here to hop on over to her blog.

Be sure to visit Farley’s blog for more May CURRENTLY!!!  :)
